Nuts

All of the nuts and seeds we sell are Certified Organic except the Macadamias and some crops of walnuts (organically grown, not certified) and Pine Nuts (wildcrafted).   All are grown in the US (except the Hemp, Chia, and Flax Seeds) and are raw.  None have been irradiated or fumigated.

Please feel free to order in fractional amounts (for instance .5 pounds, or 1.75 pounds, etc) on any items.

We try to keep our prices as low as possible. If you find a better price elsewhere for a organically-grown, raw, US-grown product, please let us know and we will try to match it.

Organically Grown Raw Macadamia Nuts  - $16.00/lb      temporarily out of stock until February 6th, 2012

We are absolutely thrilled to have found our macadamia nut farmer.  He takes macadamias very seriously and realizes the importance of drying at ambient temperatures to preserve enzymes.  Grown with compost and water only. These are shelled and have been dried at ambient temperatures and are very fresh!  We order in small quantities from the farmer and he cracks them to order.   These have not been frozen, however the farmer tells us that freezing is just fine.  Minimize exposure to moisture (condensation) and air to maintain freshness.   If you decide to freeze or refrigerate them, take care upon thawing as condensation development can lead to rancidity.  Use within a week after taking out of the freezer.      See Raw Recipes for suggestions.

Certified Organic Raw Pecans - $10.00/lb   Crop failed!! Out of stock until Fall 2012 Harvest
These pecans are from the mid-West.  Ambient air-dried.  Wonderful treats!  Kept under refrigeration.   Farmer says freezing is great and will keep in the freezer for years.  When removing from the freezer, keep in the refrigerator.    See Raw Recipes for suggestions.

Certified Organic Domestic Raw Sunflower Seeds - $6.00/lb

We are so excited about these!  Most if not all of the sunflower seeds in the stores are from China since the US crops are smaller and cost more.    These are domestically-grown seeds that have not been frozen.  No heat used in processing.  See Raw Recipes for suggestions.

Organically Grown Raw English Walnuts - $10.00/lb

These walnuts are rich and sweet-tasting. Multi-colored from tan to dark brown (we call these sun-kissed - they are even more deeply flavored!), these walnuts dried naturally on the tree and have been shelled on a machine that shells only walnuts. Most walnuts are dried at high heats to remove excess moisture.  These have not been frozen and have been kept under refrigeration since shelled.   Halves and pieces. Keep refrigerated to maintain freshness.  Refrigeration is best to maintain the integrity of the nut.  If you need to freeze them, use soon after thawing.  Caution: may contain shell pieces  We pack all of our foods as securely as possible, but due to shifting that might occur, there might be some walnut powder resulting.
Certified Organic Raw Walnuts (in shell) - $5.00/lb

These sweet and yummy walnuts have only been husked - no other processing.    Very fresh.  Like our shelled walnuts, these have been only air-dried.  These have not been frozen.  Keep in a dry place.  Like all our foods, the in-shell walnuts we get are not treated with any kind of sprays or chemicals.  Therefore, they are more susceptible to insect activity.  We try to screen for any questionable nuts, but often times, it isn't until you crack the nut that you find it is compromised.  For this reason, we don't offer refunds or returns on the in-shell walnuts.  See Raw Recipes for suggestions.
